Indelible By Inger Iversen

A little while ago I discovered this author and her Incarcerated series. Well now Inger Iversen is back with the 3rd book and continuation of Teal & Trent's story. Readers I will caution you and say that you must read every book in the series to understand whats going on. Although it has been a minute in between books it was well worth the wait. Check out the 3rd book below.

Synopsis:

Former Marine, Trent Reed, is in desperate need of a Hail Mary.

With each failed attempt to convince his woman to pack up and move to Kentucky, his past finds some new way to rear its ugly head. But when his pregnant ex plows into his life, all hell breaks loose—unearthing parts of his past he wished would stay buried.
Two weeks of vacation with her man? Hell yeah, that is exactly what Teal Lofton’s libido needs.

And after surviving seven months apart, their reunion doesn’t disappoint. What she didn’t account for was an unfortunate encounter with people from Trent’s past. A racist, a druggie, and a double-barreled shotgun, culminate into a vacation that will alter the course of her life forever.

Out of Time By Sienna Mynx

Out of Time By Sienna Mynx is the perfect little holiday read. Its a cozy story about second chances and I cannot even begin to describe the steamy love scenes. Granted this is a short story and I would have liked for it to be a little longer with all that was presented in the story but nonetheless this author did her thing. I loved the relationship between Ice and Asha. This story reminded me of those Hallmark Christmas stories but a little extra added spice. In such a short amount of time the author developed great characters that made you feel like you knew them. So ladies if you are looking for a good read please one click this book!!

Second Chances By D.A. Young

Second Chances by D.A. Young is a story of growth and redemption. One of the things I loved about this story is that no matter how many skeletons the characters had in their closet it was always someone who stood by them with love and without judgement. Compared to the authors other series this story for me was a little more sensual and focused more on the intimacy aspect. Not to say that this story lacked heat because believe me the love scenes are plenty but the focus was more on the growth of each character and the emotions we all go through to become whole again.

Ella the infamous assistant with a nice left hook is a woman with one heck of an emotional past. She has secrets that impact those around her but because of who her family is appearances must be kept up. Feeling suffocated by all the turmoil around her Ella leaves and starts over fresh. But when she finally decides to come back home she didn’t plan on finding love and peace again.

Wyatt the hottie with the man bun is just the man to break down all the barriers Ella has put up. But what happens when the man you are falling for has just as many secrets as you do and his past comes to confront him as well? Since Ella’s abrupt leave of the cove she has closed her heart off to all those around her. Trusting is hard when those who you trusted the most have betrayed you. Sometimes meeting someone to share in your pain is just enough to bring you out.

In true D.A. Young fashion you have a list of well-developed characters who have a story as well. I mean come on the title only implies you are getting a story about multiple people. Ella’s friends are very intriguing and they add to the emotional aspect of the story. I loved the flashback scenes from how each character started and how far they have come. Even though Wyatt is very attractive Ella does make him work for it. She tries to push him off at every turn but each time he comes back for more. Wyatt won’t allow Ella to give up on them and is willing to fight for her and every friend who threatens him as well. Ella’s friends: Fallon, Divina, Zay and Charlotte are a very colorful bunch. You really feel like as a reader you have at least one friend like these characters. This book had a few twist and turns I didn’t expect that kept the story going. I will say that this book read like a soap opera bouncing between the different storylines and each story was better than the next. I know this author always has a list of characters but I do appreciate that she has a breakdown of each character so readers don’t get confused. All in all this was a good read and I would recommend it. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

Craigslist Lover By Ancelli

Do you believe in divine interventions?

McKenzie O'Sullivan was in a dark place in life. Each day she lived in survival mode not knowing if her husband Wayne would come home in a good or bad mood. Everything she hoped and dreamed of was taking away by the one man that promised to love her until death do them part.

Everything happens for a reason, right? What would you do if you had no way out, and nothing to lose? Would you take a chance and risk it all? A personal classified changed McKenzie's life forever, but does she really know who "is" behind the screen? Or is it just her loneliness believing everything written on her shattered heart.

WARNING: This book contains adult content and violence.

About The Author:

I married my best friend, the love of my life, we have two beautiful daughters, and I love serving my country. On my spare time, I love scribbling and making my words come to life. I love writing romance stories about couples that go through trials and come out stronger. Love is never easy, but it's worth all the hard work. I would like to hear your opinion whether good or bad, you can leave your comments at ancelli55@live.com or visit my Facebook pagehttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Interra...

When I read the title of the book Craigslist Lover I honestly was put off. I didn’t know what to expect my mind went to the true life story of the Craigslist Killer. But you know the saying, “you can’t judge a book by its cover” well in my case you can’t judge a book by its title. This story is so much deeper than just someone searching for online affection. McKenzie needed Tee (Toby) he gave her a freedom that she never would have found on her own. Going back to that name Toby in my mind I had to just call him by the name he gave online because that name was just awful.

This story was an emotional read and discusses the issues of domestic violence. Usually you read these stories and authors just touches the surface but Ancelli did push herself in this book and you see her growth as an author. The author explores the emotional side of domestic violence from both sides. McKenzie’s ex was a real piece of work but as you read the story you find more about his character and his emotional issues. Redemption is offered but it is a long road ahead. Also, readers you get to see some old characters from the author’s previous series.

Now don’t get me wrong this story isn’t all drama it’s a love story and as McKenzie and Tee develop a relationship we realize that they are really saving each other. The mother in-law added a bit of sass to the story. I will say that for me the story kind of drug on for a little bit and at times was frustrating e.g. she lashes out when the offer of emotional help is brought up, he leaves to get himself together, all of the texting, and some situations I felt were brought up was just added unnecessary drama.  This wasn’t my favorite story from the author but it does show how far her work has come. I don’t know what it was but I had a hard time finishing the story. Although, I am glad I did because the h.e.a. was well worth it. One of the biggest things that I loved about this story is that everyone came full circle. There wasn’t one issue that was brought up that wasn’t dissolved by the end of the story. I will say that there were minor issues with the story such as editing. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people say that someone did a complete 360 well it’s actually a 180. In the case of McKenzie’s ex the author said he did a 360 well if he did that he would be the same abusive monster so he did a 180 and got help and became a better father. I know, I know, silly it’s just one of those grammar things that drive me crazy. All in all although this wasn’t one of my favorite’s the author did do a great job writing about an issue that she feels passionate about. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

The Pursuit of Happiness By D.A. Young

It took me forever to finally sit down and write this review. I guess I didn’t want the book to end and needed a moment to process all that black girl magic D.A. Young was serving up. Ladies this book was everything! The author addressed so many political and social issues that are important today and not only that offers ways we can help in our own community. Sometimes authors can sound overly “preachy” in books but this book it was like she was speaking life. I loved all the pop culture references and the way the author addressed racism and sexism.  (Ok on to this review)

We are back on the row with Casey & Sid. If you are like me you have been waiting impatiently for this story. Sid although her mouth is straight fire is very complicated she has demons from her past that she battles with daily. The problem with demons is that if you don’t confront them they will eat you alive. No one can ever accuse Sid of being a coward but she was hurt very deeply as a child and that has shaped the woman she is today. Now I know her nick name is Sid-vicious but she cares deeply and the only man who can deal with her antics is Casey.

This book made me see Casey in a different light. When this man loves he loves hard but his insecurities of losing Sid can often get the best of him. I loved how the author dug a little deep into both characters past. We got to see a young Sidra & Casey as kids fighting for love and the factors that both shaped them into who they are today. I do wish with Casey’s violent tendencies in this book we would have got to see him grovel a little bit more or take corrective action ( I never did see him atone for his behavior). For me the story was kind of overshadowed by the “secret” Sidra carried (and all the players) e.g. her mom/dad but the issue with Dom and Casey when did they get cool and how did it come about? I would have loved to see how that wrapped up and more on the wedding.

Like all the authors stories we get to catch up with our favorite characters and let me tell you Lex & Viv were the break out stars in this book for me. I cannot wait to hear more about this imposing threat and how these two even came about. Ella is another play that slowly came to the forefront of this book. I believe she has more of a story to tell and her past won’t be so pretty as well.

I think this book was a little more action packed than the last with Sidra’s past and the characters who make a play to destroy her happiness. This story had a few twists and turns that I did not see coming. One thing I give the author kudos for is the family tree in the beginning of the book. Because this story dealt with some heavy issues Sidra’s mother was a great comic relief.

D.A. Young has done it again by serving all this realness in her latest instalment. I previously mentioned that this book was a little different than the others and I loved that the author dug deeper and produced something that was touching and eye opening. You have a fan in me D.A. Young I cannot wait for the next book. I highly recommend this series. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

Mint By Blue Davis

So often in romance stories you get a heroine that plays the damsel in distress role. She has her own but she plays weak when it comes to the hero. This is not the case in Blue Davis book Mint. Lexi is strong and very stubborn. She is a thief with ambition ( I had to chuckle at that). On her latest heist she is going for the lesser known pirate Black Caesar’s gold. The only thing is that she is in Haiti and being a woman no one will help her. Lexi has to swallow her pride and call upon the one man who makes her heart flutter. She has essentially resigned herself to b.o.b. but that can only get a girl so far.

James is the competition. These two for 10 years have been trying to avoid a chemistry that just won’t go away. Lexi unlike the many other women in his life doesn’t fall all over him and give him whatever he wants. A part of James likes the chase but it’s been way too long. He gets the call and like the true “gentlemen” he is resigns to help Lexi.

When these two get together it’s like a force of nature. This book is full of action and adventure. I wouldn’t say it’s heavy on the romance but has just enough spice to keep the reader interested. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

Deeper Book 2 By allyn lesley

Book 2 in the Deeper Chronicles is now out. I have been reading this book and am in awe. One thing I love is that the author gives readers a recap of what happened in the previous book so that readers wont get confused. Readers be warned this is book 2 in a 3 part series. The good thing is that the author is currently writing book 3. Readers if you are looking for a thriller and a page turner one-click this one.

The King of New York is back. And now, he’s got a Queen on his arm. Just when Noah Adams and Avi Linton are finally settling in to their “happily ever after,” another evil is preparing to make a move. This time, the game just got a little more dangerous and nobody will come out unharmed. Determined to protect her at all costs, Noah puts his life on the line for the only woman who ever mattered to him. But that might not be enough.

When the past begins to threaten their future, Avi and Noah must fight for their present. But can they battle against their enemy without descending deeper into danger?

Meet The Author:

allyn lesley writes real stories about real people.

As a teen, allyn lost herself in the pages of some of Romance's heavyweights, trusting that a happy ever after was just around the corner. In allyn's own writing journey, as in life, she's learned that people don't always experience recovery and restoration after a fall. Her stories speak to the gritty side of life where the right choice isn't always easily identified and happiness not quickly gained.

His Wolf's Desire By Shannon Nydia

Synopsis...

Bradford Dalton and Jayla Stanton are both shifters. Each has their own reason for not wanting to be in a relationship with their own kind. Suddenly finding out that they are mates is a shock to both of them. There’s no way in hell these work enemies will ever be together.

Brad and Jayla are desperate to find a way to coexist with their shifter sides. They just have to contend with the fact they have sexual chemistry that is off the charts. Jayla can turn his body to steel with just a smoldering look. Brad can make Jayla quiver in anticipation with just one touch. You won’t hear either one of them complaining about succumbing to their insatiable need for the other. Sure they can have hot sex which knocks them on their ass, but that doesn’t mean they’ll ever fall for the other. Right?

Publisher's Note: This book was previously released but has been re-edited and revised for this version.

His Wolf’s Desire......

Brad and Jayla have an undeniable attraction to each other but their stubborn nature will not allow them to give in. The author was very clever in giving both sides of the emotions these two felt. Both of their reactions mirrored each other from the appraisal to the direct defiance of attraction. This was an insta-love/lust type of story. From the beginning even though they hated each other one thing they couldn’t deny was their mutual attraction.
Instead of trying to fight off the inevitable they give in and “pretend” to be dating. Jayla doesn’t date wolves and this one is like any other he is her mate. Brad has severe trust issues not having a pack doesn’t make it better. Jayla comes in and turns his world upside down. I did like the chase between the two but after a while it got old and continued throughout the whole story. I mean right until the end they were fighting their relationship at some point I wanted to say get it and let’s get to the relationship part. (the non-conflict). I did have few issues with this stories a few inconsistences.

With all the buildup and angst I wanted more from the ending. The book left a lot of questions for me especially regarding Brad’s family. I didn’t know at times if I was reading about adults or teenagers with the prank calls and the constant denial. One of the lighter parks of the book was the two assistants Monica and Grant. They were so funny and added a little something extra to the story. Hopefully we can get a story on them soon. All in all this was a good light read. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

Country Hearts: The Road Home By E. Harper Milam

Meet The Author:

E. Harper Milam wrote her first novel at the age of six to critical (motherly) acclaim and she’s been writing and reading ever since.  She is the author of Country Hearts: The Road Home and the upcoming Some Bitter Some Sweet. She writes across a broad range of genres including multi-cultural romance, dystopian fiction, science fiction and erotica. She lives in Kansas City with her husband and dreams of a farm.
She posts excerpts from her work at http://www.eharpermilam.com

Book Synopsis:

Can an up and coming country singer with a painful past hold the attention of a free spirit who wants it all? Or will she head for the hills and take her heart with him?

Ladies we all know the holidays are upon us and during this season I know I get extra sappy. I love a good love warm and fuzzy love story no drama just two people meeting and that magical moment happens (told you very sappy). I had the pleasure of reading Country Hearts: The Road Home by E. Harper Milam. This is an IR book about two individuals randomly meeting and connecting. Mia has the heart of gold and gives to all except when it comes to love she hasn’t had the best of luck. Wanting a day out with her friend Val they take a chance on this up and coming country band. Eric is a single father his heart is in becoming big in the country music scene.

These two have some issues and a lot to workout but they do know they want a relationship. But in order for that to work they have to learn to work together. Eric seemed a little selfish at times when it came to his music. It almost seemed like he put that above all else. I guess that’s why Mia was perfect for him. She knew the art of sacrifice and giving to those she loves. Although she kind of made herself a doormat at times their relationship worked because what one lacked the other had. Ladies take a chance and read a love story without drama just a feel good read. Granted this is a short story and I wanted more relationship development between the two characters. It felt as though the side characters storylines had a little more depth at times but all in all this was a good read and I am happy I took a chance on this new author. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

Entwined By Harper Miller

Title: Entwined
Author : Harper Miller
Genre: Erotica and Interracial/Multicultural Romance

After twenty years of devotion to Uncle Sam, I called it quits. I was wired and looking to get into some trouble. Trouble found me all right, in the form of a hot-bodied fox.

Little did I know how much she’d rock my world.

The names are all fake, details have been fudged, but you’ll get the gist of what went down.

You’re getting one hell of a tale. This is my story.

*Disclaimer* This is a novelette. Not a short story, novella, or novel. This story features an F/F/M ménage à trois scenario. If ménage stories are not your cup of tea and you are easily offended by threesomes and lesbian sex, you should bypass this story. Content is intended for a mature audience, 18+.

Entwined is the third installment in The Kinky Connect Chronicles. The Kinky Connect Chronicles are short erotic stories/novelettes all wrapped up in neat little bows. These stories are standalones. No cliffhangers in the lot!

© Harper Miller 2015

Her screen name reminded me of that Beastie Boys tune “She’s Crafty.” I liked her direct approach. Cosplay? That was unusual, but hey, I had attended Comic-Con International back in 2013 after my trip to Hawaii—right before I left for Germany—and boy, was it an experience. Tons of hot women in spandex, body paint, and barely-there costumes; Comic-book characters and superheroes are a lot sexier than you’d think.

Since she said she was looking for the boy-next-door type, I’m guessing she meant clean-cut. If so, I was right up her alley. My years in the military led me down a narrow and regimented path. I didn’t drink, much; I certainly didn’t do drugs. I guess compared to her, I might’ve looked boring. Aside from two tattoos—a tiger that took up most of my right shoulder and upper arm, and the Hawaiian word Kākou on my left bicep that I got about a year after I joined the military—there wasn’t anything edgy about me. But I wouldn’t know if I was her type until I took the first step and messaged her.

I’ll admit I hesitated. We seemed like opposites. Based on looks alone, we were so different. Her, a black woman with an unorthodox style, and me a Polynesian-and-white guy with an athletic build. I certainly wasn’t as fashion-forward and daring with my attire as she seemed to be. All I needed was a cool opening line to get her attention. Show her that the clean-cut “unassuming” boy next door can lay pipe just the way she liked it if given a chance.

I knew what I was bringing to the table. She’d never forget me.

I clicked on the box next to her username and composed my message before hitting send. Nothing heavy, just an icebreaker—an icebreaker that was certain to make an impression.

Sgt4U: Knock knock.

About a two minutes passed before she replied.

CraftyBabexXx: Hmm, I’ll play along. Who’s there?
Sgt4U: Orange.
CraftyBabexXx: Orange who?
Sgt4U: Orange you glad someone had the balls to be original on this thing?

There was a long pause. My lame joke was funny in my head. Maybe it didn’t translate well in a text format. Hey, I should have at least gotten points for being unique.

When Harper first starting promoting this book and the subject matter I was a little turned off. (I am little selfish with my man so sharing isn’t an option) But to each their own. I will say don’t let the subject matter detour you from clicking this book there is a twist that will have you rereading the book just for clues you may have missed along the way.

The first page of this book let me be honest did make me cringe a little because of all the “guy” talk but once you get pass that JT is very funny and how he refers to finally releasing his “tension” is pretty funny. One thing that this book does well is using pop culture, and social references in the book which I loved. JT is finally released from the Marine Corp and on the hunt for some fun. Trying to connect with others who enjoy his alternative lifestyle isn’t easy so he joins kinky singles connect (sound familiar?) There he meets Gabrielle. Their instant messages are funny and full of heat. If anyone has ever online dated these messages and the whole process will sound vaguely familiar in some context.

I did enjoy the flashback scenes on how these two met and became a couple. I think there is more to this story. For me the story just ended abruptly and I wanted more from the epilogue. I was a little turned off by the fact that Jake kept referring to woman by what’s between their legs. (I kept thinking is she a cat or kitten?)  It was funny that Jake wanted this little “surprise” but couldn’t last as long as he wanted it to. Harper putting that in the story made it a little more real for me. How many times in these stories you hear men can go all night? I am glad she made these characters a little more real. Although this story is short it packs a might punch. I just felt somewhere the story fell a little short and it was all happening so quickly leading up to this big moment that the two characters were referring to. I know this is a short read but I felt it was lacking in some areas. All in all I am glad I gave this story a chance. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.
