She knocked on the door and waited. Nothing. She knocked again, a little firmer this time. Still nothing. Claire reached in her purse and grabbed her phone. Damn, no freaking signal. Another perk of living on the island. Phone signals were capricious. She turned on her heels to the back of the house where she knew he kept the emergency key, then headed back to the front. The night wind penetrated the wool coat with absurd ease, making her shiver. She drew her shawl around herself more tightly to keep out the cold as she fumbled with the key. The door slowly creaked open; she stepped inside and was greeted by a muted house, which was not typical of Forrest. She headed down the hall, the click of her heels amplified with each step on the wooden floor. She entered the family room. In here, ESPN always blared in the background. Tonight, there was nothing but an eerie, hollow silence. A bad feeling slithered up the back of her neck. She dug in her purse for her phone again. One finger dragged along the screen, it lit up. I was pleasantly surprised by the latest installment in the Wolf In Exile Series. Just when I think I have it figured out the author adds another curve ball that leaves my jaw dropping.  I love that this books starts right off where the other when left off. Kalena has since been rescued after sharing a steamy love scene with Thane. Although they have a new love Thane knows shes his mate. But these two have a lot to learn about each other. When secrets are revealed how will they survive? Area S2 has nothing on the bomb that’s about to explode when all is revealed.

Things seem to be going well since the two have been reunited but Kalena has memory loss and Thane is trying to survive in a world he has been removed from. I was surprised at the turn this book had taken toward the end. And wanted to scream when the author left us on yet another cliif-hanger. All in all this was a very quick read but as a reader I wanted more. As soon as the story was getting good it ended. Hopefully the author doesn’t make her fans wait too long.

This is the conclusion to Lexi & Sloan rollercoaster romance. As much as I love these two characters I am so happy to see them get their hea. This story is told in layers and this final layer was just mind-blowing. Part two left us with the craziest cliffhanger and I honestly didn’t know how the author was going to let part three play out. When I tell you that these two have went through the most things in their short time together i.e. crazy exes, ptsd, abuse just to name a few.

This story really focused on the two as individuals and how they overcame their own issues. I will say that Sloan kind of annoyed me with some of the decisions he made regarding his relationship but as a reader you have to remember all the baggage these two have. And Lexi she came a long way but when times got tough she would often draw within herself and just shut down. I wanted to yell at her speak up, gain your voice. But the author really does take these two characters on a journey of growth. This story was not without the drama and old characters coming in to destroy the characters happiness. And the ending!!! Let me just say it was well deserved. One of the things I had issues with is the grammar. The content and the way the story flowed was on point. This author can tell a wonderful tale that you don’t get with most stories these days you know an actual plot. But the grammar made it hard to focus on the story at times. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

I stroked his hair, waist deep in peace, all worry gone for the moment, and floating in no more than an ocean of gratitude. I must have been more vulnerable than I realized, or he’d reopened some wound with his kindness, because though my sweet reverie stayed, as the minutes passed, a layer of need fitted itself on top of it.

I needed to tell him, if not the details, the outlines of who I was.

“I want you to know,” I whispered, starting somewhere small, then everything I didn’t want to say spilled out. “I have stuff. I’ve never been to jail, but you know, it’s stuff, and it’s ugly, and it scares me. Because, I mean, you’re so perfect, and I’m… I’m just a mess. I’m not whole. I’m a bunch of pieces of a person I cobbled together.” My eyes got wet when I thought of the comparisons between us and that picture in my silverware drawer. “So if you have to move on when you realize that, I’ll understand. You have an image, and if anyone understands protecting a career, it’s me. I mean, I’ll be mad, don’t get that wrong, but also.” I swallowed and blinked, shifting my head so he wouldn’t feel the tear on his forehead. “I won’t blame you.”

I waited for an answer. Anything. A change in position or a word on any subject. The weather. Sports. Something. But all he did was breathe.

 I work a regular office job by day and write my "romantica" at night or at my lunch break. I started writing romance with dynamic sex scenes because I enjoy great love stories and great sex. Some people would be embarrassed to say that, but I'm not. I started the Don't Knock It series because women are often afraid to try new things. They also allow people to talk them out of who they should or shouldn't date. In Dare it was important for Charmaine to go beyond her comfort zone and in Deep, Eden went beyond her comfort zone but in a different way.

This book is unlike anything I have ever read. It is very raw and in your face. Dare is not for the fait at heart but take a chance and try something a little unconventional.,,,,,

Charm is what I like to call “that girl.” She is one who has it going on but knows she has it going on. She has high standards and an even higher sex drive. Because she can be very vain she uses sex as a weapon. No man is ever good enough. Basically what Charm wants is just too much and very unrealistic. This book and character I am sure every woman has known someone like Charm at one point in their life. Loving friend but misguided when it comes to love and life.

Let me repeat again this book is very gritty and high on the sex aspect but once you dig a little deeper in the story you will realize that sex just masks the deeper issues and Charm like many characters are flawed.

Now on to Zander. The chapter introducing Zander I won’t ruin it for readers but all I can say is wow!!!!! Zander like Charm have been hurt by love once in life and has never overcome or even faced the issues. He is a man that loves them well sex them and leave them. You see Zander has some shortcomings that fact that he is short but well-endowed is his weapon. At one point I wanted to yell at both characters and tell them to get over themselves. When these two meet it’s like a hurricane meeting a volcano. What do you do when you meet another version of yourself? Do you run or face the fact that love has found you?

This book was well edited and the characters were well developed. The author has talent but I wished there was more of the characters interaction then just sex. Some scenes were a bit repetitive. But all in all this was a well told story I hope that in the next story we get more on Eden and deeper in the story then just sex. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.
