Author Spotlight: Mika Jolie

You know how you just read a complete love story? With the highs and the lows and it leaves you thinking I want that kind of love ( a girl can dream). That's the kind of stories that author Mika Jolie offers in her Martha's Way series. Ladies if you are looking for a complete sensual story this is the series for you.

I had the honor of receiving an arc of Jolie's latest book Tattooed Hearts. First let me say that this is a second chance story and what I call women's lit so if you are looking for a book that has a mix of heat and a good plot this is one to one-click. Claire and Forrest were each others first loves but after Claire overhears a certain  conversation she is devastated. She leaves the island never to look back. Its funny we always believe the worse in the ones we love.

But when you love someone and the love is strong how can you deny what you feel? Throughout the book these two of course don't want to acknowledge their feelings for each other but fate has other plans.  Find out what happens when true love overcomes foolishness, and escape to the vineyard once again.

She knocked on the door and waited. Nothing. She knocked again, a little firmer this time. Still nothing. Claire reached in her purse and grabbed her phone. Damn, no freaking signal. Another perk of living on the island. Phone signals were capricious. She turned on her heels to the back of the house where she knew he kept the emergency key, then headed back to the front. The night wind penetrated the wool coat with absurd ease, making her shiver. She drew her shawl around herself more tightly to keep out the cold as she fumbled with the key. The door slowly creaked open; she stepped inside and was greeted by a muted house, which was not typical of Forrest. She headed down the hall, the click of her heels amplified with each step on the wooden floor. She entered the family room. In here, ESPN always blared in the background. Tonight, there was nothing but an eerie, hollow silence. A bad feeling slithered up the back of her neck. She dug in her purse for her phone again. One finger dragged along the screen, it lit up. Still no signal. A knot of fear twisted in her gut. ÒClaire.Ó The sound of ForrestÕs voice, infused with a question mark, caused her heart to jump and fill with joy, relief. She whipped around and faced the main reason she came back to MarthaÕs Vineyard.
