Knocked Up By The Bad Boy By: Vanessa Waltz

Synopsis:
The last thing I need is a wife and kid.

The only settling down I do is at night, when I take a girl home to f*ck. I get laid to unwind from the chaos in my life. I live to hear them scream my name, but one night is all they get.

One night was all I needed.

Until I knocked up Maya.

It was supposed to be one night. But one wild night made me want another, and another. I’m addicted to every inch of her body. Now that I have her, I can’t let her go. I thought I never wanted a family, but now I can’t imagine life without one.

Only, there’s a problem.

Her father wants me dead.

I didn’t know she was his daughter.
I don’t give a damn.
She’s mine. Our child is mine. I protect what's mine.
Even if it means war.

Maya grew up in a prison of a home. Her father is the President of the local MC and has all these rules for how his family should live which is basically not at all. Maya is a wild spirit she knows there is much more to the world then the limited view her father has shown her. Family is everything and outside of family all are considered enemies. What happens when Maya sleeps with public enemy number 1? What’s a girl to do when you never have been loved so good but your family is all you ever known?

Johnny if you remember him from the first book is a bit of jerk. Not that he isn’t in this book but readers get to see more of Johnny as the man instead of the mob boss. He has been married twice and never felt anything for the other women as he has for Maya. He introduces her to a world of freedom sexually and emotionally. Just when he has everything he thought was denied enemies attack and they come in the form of family.

I understand Maya has been sheltered in a sense but when will she stand up for herself? Her father is abusive and her mother just watches and justifies his behavior. When she finally gets free she puts herself back in danger. I really wanted her to get a backbone at some point. She had all this courage with Johnny but nothing when it came to her father who put her through hell. Johnny being the bad boy he is will not tolerate disrespect from anyone and I loved that he stood up for Maya and made her face some harsh truths. The ending felt a bit rushed and the timeline was a little up in the air. One minute she was pregnant then the next scene the kid was 2 years old. I wish as a reader we got to see more of Johnny and Maya as a couple instead of sex scenes after a while they were redundant. This wasn’t my favorite story. I just felt as though it could have been more fleshed out because there was good material it was just glossed over with sex scenes. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

Married To The Bad Boy (Mafia Romance) By: Vanessa Waltz

Summary

No one in their right mind marries a bad boy...

I’m a player. A man-whore. Whatever the hell you want to call it, I get around. During the day, I crack heads and extort businesses. At night, I find girls to f*ck. I live to hear them moan for me, but one night is all they get. No one ever made me want more. Until her.
Elena.
The moment her lips wrapped around me, I was done. All day, I think about running my tongue all over those curves.
Too bad those curves are off limits. She's running from a man who will kill me for touching her.
Well, she's tired of running and needs my help.
She thinks I'm doing it for money.
I'm doing it to make her mine.

Tony is a bad boy who is used to getting what he wants especially from women. He lives for two things women and money and in that order. He thinks with his sex and the rest is just a game. Tony has a rule when it comes to women: “never sleep with them twice.” But what happens when you meet that one that makes you rethink all the rules?
Elena the ultimate mafia princess knows how the game works. You don’t choose the life it chooses you and a rat or anyone associated with a rat is the lowest thing. She’s involved with a connected man Rafael. He is obsessed with Elena and very abusive. Like most women in abused relationships Elena wants help but doesn’t see her way out. In this life everyone turns a blind eye. Tired of being put off and fearing for her life Elena plays the game and the men in it to her advantage.
Desperate to forget and needing help Elena gives Tony a chance to prove all the wonderful nasty things he can do to her. Sometimes playing can turn into reality.
On the run from her abusive ex Elena uses sex as a weapon to employ Tony’s help but he’s no idiot. Like I said in this life there are rules but everyone knows there are exceptions to every rule. Her only means of protection is to get married to a made guy. Not realizing their game and lies will snowball into something serious Tony and Elena fight with everything they have to protect their growing romance.
This story in my opinion was majority sex scenes and not a great balance between that and character interaction and development. For instance whenever something happened in the story the next scene was a sex scene to follow. I found some of the characters behavior and actions to be questionable and contradictory. i.e. Elena goes from a very abusive relationship to Tony who manhandled her. Does she not have any fear? She says, “He's a bad boy but I know he will never raise a hand to me. Well you know what I mean." Huh?
Also if you are running away from your abusive ex why keep your phone on and not get a prepaid one? It doesn’t make sense to go through all that trouble to hide from him and to make all these silly mistakes. She’s afraid of Rafael but meets with him several times unprotected and even goes back to her apartment by herself. The same apartment she was afraid to go back to so she asked Tony to stay the night. I just found this story to have a few inconsistencies.
The scenes where Tony and Elena get to know each other I enjoyed because they were few and far between. Elena was a bit annoying because she kept making silly decisions. I understand giving the situation your wits aren’t about you. But when Rafael threatens her with jail time and he’s a part of Vince’s crew did she not think it was a bluff? I mean really you don’t think the cops are watching a made man?
For me this wasn’t one of my favorite books from this author. I loved her Vittario crime series but this book fell a little flat for me. It just randomly ended. I wanted a little more of a follow-up. I just felt this was a rushed job. But what I don’t particularly care for others may love. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

His Witness By: Vanessa Waltz

Welcome back to the Vittorio Crime Family! His Witness is the fourth book in this series but can be read as a standalone. Before I get into my review I will say that this is a very dark read. It deals with abuse, violence, and graphic sex. This book is not for the faint at heart. I say this not to discourage the reader but as a forewarning as to what to expect.

Tommy head enforcer and a bit of a psychopath when it comes to his victims has never fit in anywhere. His biological family treated him as if he was non-existent and Jack his surrogate showed him in only the way the mob or any gang could what it feels like to be a part of something. Although Jack was the first one to introduce Tommy to this life he still will never be “made” because he isn’t fully Italian. Because of this Tommy takes liberties where he wants with little to no repercussions. Like many men in this family when he sees something he wants he takes it including women.

Melanie has taken over for her father in the family business. Her dreams of attending Columbia University have been shattered with the burden of helping her father. Jumping in bed with some strange bedfellows Melanie has to sign a deal with the devil. Because her father has business with the Vittorio Family Melanie has no choice but to let them flood drugs through her club for their business. Verbally and psychically abused by the men in this family Melanie has created a hard shell. She doesn’t back down to these guys and lets them know exactly where they can shove it. I love the fact that Melanie is very sassy and has a bit of a filthy mouth.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances Melanie is now Tommy’s captive. Tommy has always had a crush on Melanie but each time she turns him down. Now that he has her exactly where he wants her his goal is to break her by any means necessary.

If you have read any of the other previous stories this story will really make you dislike Vince. He’s a bit of a douchebag to everyone except his wife. While I love a good mob read I had a few issues with the inconsistencies in this story. For instance Melanie says to Tommy, “You said you have anger problems, but I don’t see it at all.” Or my favorite when Tommy says, “I never laid a hand on you I’m trying to help you.”  (Potential Spoilers) He only beat her and starved her and made her sit in the cold basement naked for days. I would agree his issues go beyond anger but who are we kidding?

I did find that there were parallels between this story and the other stories in the series. For example Jack has an issue with one of the love interests of his men and wants them to get rid of said love intrest. But the men can’t find a way to part with the women they love and except them for who they are. The women all have issues with Jack and make note to mention that Jack is using them. But because of some blind loyalty to Jack the men including Tommy try to work something out. Although unlike the other men Tommy is more of a man of action and doesn’t just speak about things he makes them happen. I do like the fact that the author does pose questions to the characters that the readers are thinking themselves. i.e. Melanie doesn’t want to leave Tommy after the God awful things he has done to her. She pleads her case which sounds a lot like classic Stockholm Syndrome but Tommy corrects her and lets her know that, “its normal to get attached to the person you are spending so much time with.” I honestly didn’t feel these two characters shared anything more than insults and sex. I would have liked to see more of a connection between the two if possible.

This story is more than Melanie being Tommy’s captive it balances the budding “romance” between the two with the business of the family. I won’t give too much a way but there are a lot of twists and turns in this story and the way the author left the book off I am sure there is more to come. Don’t judge this book based on this one review but for yourself.

End Game ( A Dark Romance) By: Vanessa Waltz

End Game is a standalone novel and book 3 in the Vittorio Crime Family Series. This is a dark romance with very adult themes including erotica, bdsm, violence and abuse if you are a person who does not like to read about the above themes then this novel isn’t for you. This is a full novel no cliffhanger and includes a HEA.

Joe DiFiore is an ex-capo now soldier/enforcer for the Vittorio Crime Family. Every day feels like complete darkness for him. He is the walking dead, no hope, no reason to smile or live. Which makes him all the more dangerous. Joe is numb battling the demons surrounding his sister’s death his only need for life is revenge until her…..
Marisa Toffoli has been taught that family is everything. Her father Dominic has put is life into the family business Worlds Casino. Double dealing and cheating his way to the top Dominic has found himself in business with some very unsavory characters involved in the mob. Through some very unforeseen circumstances Marisa, her siblings Nathan and Jessica find themselves in control of the business with Marisa being the primary stock holder. Little does she know that heavy is the head that wears the crown.
Marisa has a very colorful personality which is quite the opposite over her drab business persona. Growing up with a physically abusive brother and self-absorbed sister in her adult life Marisa still lives out her childhood. She has no friends or social life it’s no wonder she lives so much in her head. Fuzzy sleepers and cartoons on Sunday morning make her smile until darkness in the form of mob enforcer Joe shows at her door step. On his last leg Joe has no choice but to take the job of guarding Marissa. Not only does Joe guard her body but he rules her heart and soul as well.
The chemistry between these two characters is palpable. There is no slow build up once these two interact it’s like igniting a flame. Joe is attracted to Marissa but he doesn’t know that once he has been with her once would never be enough. He is Alpha-Dom hotness and makes sure that Marissa knows he is boss. Clinging to each other in the need to feel these two embark on a world wind romance. Although Joe can be a jerk to Marissa at times when she really needs him he is there to help even if it costs his life. This story is a very dark romance but what I love is that the author focuses on the mob aspect of the story as well. It’s a great balance between Joe the lover and Joe the enforcer. At about 46% of the book there is a twist and from there the plot keeps thickening.
Marisa can be very frustrating especially the situation dealing with her brother but when it comes to Joe she is very much his equal. At times I wished Marisa would have put up some resistance she was a doormat. For someone who wasn’t that sexual experienced she lets go of all inhibitions when it comes to Joe. Or maybe she just wants to feel something anything from the existence that is her life.
Quote from book: “All men are beautiful I'm the dark. It's only when the lights go on, that the superficial judgment’s begin." I though this quote was very poignant in the fact that once the lights come on all secrets are revealed and once they are there is no going back. Both Joe & Marisa have to learn to let go and trust each other. Being hurt and losing someone you love the first time is hard but can these two learn to love again? Through flashbacks of Marisa’s childhood readers get more insight into the trauma she has experienced as a child. These flashbacks are very important to the story because through this trauma Marisa has to overcome a lot of demons some she has been battling all her life. She has to learn to lean on someone else and Joe has to learn to let go. What I love about Joe is that although he is a soldier we get to see the cracks in him. The characters were very well developed.

We do get to see characters like Vincent and Adriana from the first 2 Crime stories make an appearance in this book. I am advocating for Vincent to get another book!!! This is a very detailed and through story that will have you at times frustrated and hot because the sex scenes are so explicit. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend it. Please judge this book for yourself and not based on this one review.
