I Cant Die Alone By Regina Bartley

Title: I Can't Die Alone
Author: Regina Bartley
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
 Release Date: August 21, 2016

Blurb

She was alone on a journey to find a man she’d never met. She had a backpack filled with three days worth of clothing, and old photograph, and a letter dated 1997. With one goal in mind she set out to find the man from the letter, the man named Benjamin Cooper. The only thing that she knew about this man was that he was married to her mother many years ago, and according to his letter he loved her. That was the only conformation she needed to search for him.

Tori Holt had no family left that she knew of, and one chance to find someone to share her last days with. Otherwise, she’d die alone. The doctors said she wouldn’t live to see her twenty-first birthday, the birthday that was only three months away. Time was not on her side, but she didn’t care. Tori knew right from the beginning that this journey wouldn’t be easy. But it didn’t stop her, because nothing about her life had been easy.

Then she met Bo, the handsome boy who kept her company on a park bench. Bo was the son of a man named Benjamin, the man from a letter dated 1997.

The hardest part about finding love is letting it go.
The easiest part about the journey is the moment it all makes sense.

Heartbreaker By Kat Bastion & Stone Bastion

Title: Heartbreaker
Release:  March 22, 2016
Authors: Kat Bastion with Stone Bastion
Author contact: katbastion@aol.com
Genre: New Adult Romance / Sports Romance
This is a standalone full-length novel at 81,500 words / 380 pages. (The 1st book in our Unbreakable series. Five standalone novels with different couples are planned for the series.)

Description:

Kiki Michaelson wants one wild night to forget her starving-artist worries. Simple.

Only instead of Darren Cole becoming her one-night stand, he taunts her with a challenge. Then while she’s trying to best him at his own game, he turns out to be the last thing she’s prepared for: someone she wants to keep.

Which means all he can ever be…is a friend.

Darren Cole never allows a girl to get close—not close enough to matter.

Then storms in Kiki Michaelson, a beautiful, fearless temptation that rocks his world off-balance. But he fights their attraction, unwilling to gamble something physical with their close ties. Until the passionate sculptor exposes her heart and breaks his wide open.

In that moment it becomes clear: she could never be just a friend.

This was my first read by this duo and will not be my last. Going into this story I thought this would be a typical girl meets boy story. You know they play the back and forth cat and mouse game until later they are fully ready to commit after all the games. Well let me tell you Kat & Darren may have feelings for each other but the authors allow these feelings to grow into something deeper. The characters are fully fleshed out and like most people have their share of insecurities. I loved the realness of Kat’s character. Although this isn’t an insta-love type book it packs some heat!!!

What do you do when the one you want friend-zones you? Darren is portrayed as the love them and leave them type but this musician has a lot more going on than meets the eye. Wanting to focus on his music this storm known as KiKi comes into his life and things are never the same again. This book has dual p.o.v. and a hea!!! Can you say heaven? When I dove into this book I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait for the second installment. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on one readers opinion.

Kelsey O'Brien is the definition of a free spirit. She goes where she wants, when she wants, and takes to bed who she wants. And when she arrives back at Grover University after eight months on an African animal preserve, it’s her best friend, who recently sprouted abs and a panty-dropping beard, that has caught her eye. As their friendship turns physical, Kelsey begins to form feelings she swore she'd never have for anyone. But when the past she's not ready to face finds her, she must make a decision whether to stop running, or confront the truth.

The first time Clint Bellows laid eyes on Kelsey, he fell hard. Too bad she looked right through him. A year and countless hours in the gym later, she's back and hardly recognizes him and his new body. After a drunken encounter takes them over the line of friendship, Clint agrees to Kelsey's proposal of a benefits-added relationship. Only he's playing for keeps, and is willing to round all of the bases trying to score the self-proclaimed gypsy.

She's running from her demons. He's committed to winning her over. Can he catch her in time, or will she be out of his grasp before he can blink?

Excerpt

When we got inside, the blaring hip hop music was only coming from one corner of the house. Kelsey's corner.

I waved the guys off, signaling that I would take care of the problem. As I got closer, I could make out the lyrics, "Drunk in loveee. We be all night! Loveee. Loveee. We be all night!"

Chuckling to myself on her choice of song, I knocked on the door. Waited a few seconds, nothing. This time I banged my entire fist in an effort to rattle the wood on its hinges. Still nothing.

"Roo..." I opened her door, letting myself in, and stopped dead at the sight in front of me. Kelsey was in the middle of the room, her hair piled on the top of her head like some fiery tornado, a glass filled to the brim with red wine in her hand. And she was dancing like a mad woman.

She donned a white tank top that exposed the sides of her breasts and entirely-too-large grey sweatpants that pooled over her feet, making her look like a dwarf. She was utterly adorable and fucking mouthwateringly sexy.

At the creek of the door she turned, her naturally red lips splitting in a megawatt smile.

“Hi!”

I could tell from her dancing and the slight blush of her cheeks that she was tipsy. It made her even cuter.

“Hi yourself. What’re you doing there?” I couldn’t help her infectious smile from spreading across my face too.

She shook her hips wildly as the song changed to something faster. Pitbull maybe. But I was never good with music. “I had a long, hard day. Kickass, but fucking hard! So I’m dancing.”

Kelsey makes this more evident by raising the wine glass to her lips, taking a huge swig, and then raising it above her head and twirling in circles.

I drop my baseball bag on her floor and toe my sneakers off. Then I join her in the middle of the floor, and begin to move.

She gives a happy shout and moves closer to me, joining her free hand with mine and swinging both of our arms.

“I had my fingers up a zebra’s ass today. Well technically, it was a whole fist!” She announces this like it's the most normal thing in the world while I pull quickly out of her grasp. Kelsey giggles at my repulsion.

“Oh my god, bro! Don’t worry I had gloves on. But I did have to juggle her placenta in there...”

“Kels, stop. I am going to throw up.”

She did that sexy little giggle again and raised the glass to her lips. As she took it away and swallowed, she then raised it to mine. I let her pour some into my mouth, watching her cinnamon eyes over the brim. I knew the instant desire sparked in them, and I could feel myself harden in the mesh shorts I wore.

Reaching up, I held the delicate stem in my fingers and pried it out of her hand. Setting it down on the desk, I began to stalk toward her like she was the meal and I was ravenous.

Excerpt

Lucas’ hands tightened on my shoulders. He was waiting for an answer.

Mutely, I looked away.

But not so far that I couldn’t see his reaction. His expression darkened. I shivered as his gazed moved over me, at once icy in intent and flaming hot.

“That’s how you want to play it?” he asked.

Play it? I wasn’t playing, not remotely. I was…drowning? No, that couldn’t be right because I was catching fire, ignited by him, by my own desires and by something more that I didn’t dare name.

“I’m not--”

I got that much out before his mouth closed on mine, rough, hard, demanding. His tongue thrust deep, filling me with his taste, claiming me. For just an instant I hesitated, remembering my hard won independence, the ring fence of old pain separating me from the world. Then it crumbled and I opened for him, giving him with my body what I couldn’t admit to with words.
