The Daring Assignment ( A Curvy Assignments Novel) By: Victoria Bright

I didn’t mean to hurt anyone, especially him…

I was living the dream. I had a great career as a romance author, a successful boyfriend, and am the daughter to a New York power couple. With my standing, my family groomed me to be perfect. Despite having it all, something was missing in my life.

In an attempt to break away from my privileged, suffocating life, I was in pursuit of finding my own path to happiness. After my literary agent gave me a risky writing assignment, I set out to write a best-seller that took me completely out of my comfort zone and into the arms of another man. He was only supposed to be a research toy, falling in love wasn’t a part of the plan.

As I become tangled into a huge web of lies, I quickly find out that I have a life changing decision to make. Do I choose to continue living a life of comfort, stability, and misery or do I take a chance on the unknown to preserve my happiness?

Meet The Author:

Victoria Bright is from a small town in North Carolina and currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina. She has been writing since she was in the eighth grade, starting with small short stories. As her classmates began showing interest in her work, she began to write longer stories, filling multiple spiral notebooks with her thoughts. During her freshman year in high school, her English teacher encouraged her to enter a writing contest in which she won local, region and state levels. She has entered many writing contests since and have won a few. Figuring out she had a passion to share stories with anyone who would listen, she set out to write her first book Love Unbroken.

Victoria is very versatile in the genre of books she likes to read. Her book choice mostly varies on her mood, but she is particularly interested in crime stories, romance, teen fiction, sci-fi, and is now venturing a little in paranormal fiction. As for her own writing, she doesn't really put it into a category or genre. She just writes whatever is on her mind and lets it create itself!

Her favorite quote: "I'm just a loon with access to a keyboard, a pen, and a 5-star notebook. Writing is my escape...so run away with me!"

First let me say that I love discovering new authors especially ones with a fresh story to tell. I have never read anything by this author before and now I am a fan. This story is witty and deals with self-esteem and self-discovery.

Julius was only a means to an end. Her family loved him it pleased her mother and it didn’t cause anymore tension within the family. He finds her repulsive and overweight puts her down at every second. Arianna is used to the emotional abuse her mother is the Queen of it. Once deciding to become an author she was never taken seriously since. The black sheep of the family until her editor offers her an assignment that pushes her limits.

She wears a mask every day. Arianna claims he doesn’t have low self-esteem but the constant rejection of her family and so called man has taken a toll on her. I love that Arianna is full figured and sort of makes fun of the writers who abandon their craft for stories that are popular. I found it odd and annoying that she still carried own her relationship with Julius after stating that she doesn’t want to spend her life with him but goes above and beyond to please him. She constantly compares herself to others especially her best friend and sex therapist Gia. Now Gia I loved she is the kind of friend who keeps it real with you and is self-assured. I can’t wait to read her story.

The assignment: write erotica for her career but she just may find herself in the process.

She plays the game and finds herself falling for Zane while fulfilling her assignment. After a few twists and unexpected turns following their love affair Arianna loses it all. Her reasons for staying with Julius seemed superficial.  I did like that the author showed how hard it is to leave when you are emotionally abused but Arianna was a walking contradiction she wanted to be free did her thing and still stayed. It was interesting a writer living in the world she writes about which is funny because that's the number one reader question. I didn't like that her happiness was dependent on a man. At one point this story shared some semblance to a Tyler Perry movie. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. I honestly after all that Arianna had been through wanted more from the ending. It left the reader guessing does he or doesn’t it? Are they together do they rebuild? So many unanswered questions that I am sure will be answered in the next book. I am looking forward to the second part now that she finally has a backbone. I will say that the cover doesn’t do the book justice it doesn’t reflect the Arianna I read about in the story. I very much so look forward to what else the author has in store. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.
