SYNOPSIS:
I am a big
fan of the “boom.” I love reading about the Mayson family and how each member
finds their one. I can say for me with the last few books I felt as though
something was missing. Don’t get me wrong ARR still delivers but Until Cobi for me didn’t have the same
heat as the earlier books in the series. Ok so Cobi is a cop and Hadley is the
ever so damsel in distress. Same formula (which works)! However Cobi and Hadley
really had no build up. It was an insta-love short read. Cobi runs into Hadley
at the scene of a crime and feels he needs to protect her, for him it’s an
instant connection. Now our Hadley does make him work a little bit for it but
not too hard. For him to be a cop, he had some very stalker like tendencies.
Hadley was a social worker and I am glad that the author explored that aspect
in the book. But I couldn’t get pass how very immature Hadley acted at times.
The issue with the job sort of dragged on and then was tied up in one quick
chapter. One thing that I enjoyed about the book was the epilogue and the
chapter on December. For me this was a quick easy read without too much drama
or build-up. It was a good read for the holiday break. This wasn’t my favorite
book out of the series simply because the interaction between the two
characters had no build-up to anything, it was more or less of him saying we
will be together and her fighting the inevitable. I think this story could have
used a few more chapters of character interaction, towards the end of the book
did they introduce his parents. Maybe I was expecting too much from this story,
this is not too say that this wasn’t a good read but for me a little
disjointed. This is only one person’s opinion please check out this read for
yourself.
