Synopsis:

Jackie Macon has built a successful career for herself, first as a special-needs teacher, then as principal of one of L.A.’s most diverse public schools. Only months before her retirement, new mandatory background checks threaten to expose Jackie’s darkest secrets, secrets she’s kept buried for nearly fifty years. As Jackie pleads with her husband Peter for help, her carefully hidden past unfolds. Alabama, 1961- As an ambitious student, Jackie is looking forward to her senior year, with hopes for college. However, on Homecoming morning, her father’s infidelity causes her world to change suddenly and irrevocably. Ways which now, fifty years later, may prove to be her undoing.

About The Author:

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Tiffani Quarles-Sanders is an author of historical and modern African-American fiction, and the owner of Hollow Bridge Publishing. Although Quarles-Sanders is new to the world of adult fiction, the books in her Unthinkable Sins series has earned praise from readers and has held steady in Amazon’s Kindle best books in the African-American fiction genre.

In Unthinkable Sins – the first novel of the series – Hattie Durham, the mother of an up-and-coming black politician is known as a God-fearing, upstanding member of her local and church communities in Alabama. That is until the aging Hattie, struck with dementia, starts confessing a number of sins she’s committed throughout her lifetime, which could have devastating consequences for her son’s political ambitions.

The repercussions of Hattie’s decisions are explored in Unthinkable Sins 2: The Family, where her sons and their wives are forced to face the implications of Hattie’s past actions.

Quarles-Sanders holds a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Alabama State University and has been teaching as an elementary school teacher for 18 years. She is currently working on a third book, which is set to come in 2017.
